Epping is very very wet... but is so wet that the clag has gone and its just slidey. It the intermediary claggy stage which is the worse. The downhills were actually quite good fun as they are so loose!

Danbury xc running well to day gloppy mud with a firm bottom - bring mud tyres ( continental gravity kept spinning on steep climbs )

Thorndon is messy and very gloopy sludge and thick wet clay.. going tuff to rubbish, some parts on the main path's are ok

Oh and on one of the down hill section towards the dog bin area, a massive tree is down across the track just after a bend, so beware if night riding the area :-o:-o:-o

Went for a quick blast, which turned into a two hour slog through hadliegh slop. First time I had to pedal downhill, and bent a mech cage from the volume of crap stuck to the bike!

Went to north downs / surrey hills yesterday. Pitch hill / winterfold / shere - don't bother. Holmbury and leith and the dorking side of Leith hill is almost as though the trail pixies have sponged up all the water.. Sandy as u like... Finished off with bkb on way back to car as always and it's also running well..

Friston Forrest was very sticky at the weekend - probably best to wait until the weather dries up before venturing down there...

Thanks mate - that's enough of a mention for me. Weather and bike fettling permitting I'm keen on heading there this weekend. Wouldn't have a clue where to ride though so might join one of those guided rides (£30 from http://www.surreyhillsmountainbikeguides.co.uk/), unless someone here fancies showing me around.
