So 3 weeks ago i got a 2012 voltage fr30 yesterday i changed the rear travel down from 7.1 to 5.9 i have moved the bolts/settings on the end nearest the rear end........do i need to change the position of the bolts at the other end of the shock ?
just thought id try it on the shorter setting for a few rides to see which i prefer!

Can't see how dropping the rear alone would loose you 2", hard to see the geometry in a 2d pic though but would guess you need to change the front mount around to bring the shock further up the frame, could be talking complete bollix though!:shock:

Looking at the linkage set up, it looks like thats all you need to do, swapping the bolt 180 degree's will alter ride height?

Yeah cheers guys a guy on fb pointed me in right direction this is all i had to do.....this pic us pre fiddling!

The front shock mount doesn't need moving, it can't be moved anywhere, it can only be taken out and swapped with a 215mm or 241mm mount for different length shocks.

I'm looiking closely and I believe it says 222mm on the front shock mount so you will be getting 170mm on the long setting or 150mm on the short setting.

I'm looiking closely and I believe it says 222mm on the front shock mount so you will be getting 170mm on the long setting or 150mm on the short setting.

My personal preference having tried the long and short setting using a 241mm and 222mm shock is the long travel setting is muc plusher and better over the small bumps but there's a lot of squish when standing up and pedalling. Still I prefer that than firm which is what you will get in the short travel setting.

If you want anything else give me a bell I've had my Voltage for over a year now and have fiddled to the end of the world and back on it.(no not that sort of fiddling, you dirty people)

You would want it shorter for danbury as you go faster on a firmer bike
plush would be for aston or a proper dh track
