Hello people think ive found the right place
looking into getting into some decent pedalling
im 43 live in benfleet used to ride bmx up til i was 23 thats when morgages etc got in the way
attempted to get into mtb around 95-96 rode around the downs nothing too spectacular. then kids came along
so the only biking ive done since has been towing kids around behind me. now they can all pedal themselves im free to have another go.
ive still got the bike i bought in 96 a baracuda which is ok to wobble a around for a bit but wont be up to much else
saw a voodoo hoodoo today does any one have any opinions on it. got a budget of around £500 for a new bike which i intend to sort in the coming weeks all suggestions welcome.looking forward to getting out

What sort of riding do you want to do ? there are some Dirt Jumps n Benfleet (thats where i live too) Danbury for some flowy trail/jump/fun stuff or are you going to do Cross country or drive to a more DH type of Venue ?

For £500 you may do well to look at second hand bikes ?

I think trail fun stuff but having said that i would like to do some venues porc for instance ( maybe only on the nursery slopes )
i have considered second hand but knowing which bikes to look out for is a bit daunting and not really sure which frame size to go for
had a go on a freinds marin 29er tonight only up and down the road it felt massive i think if i tried to ride it aggressive it would spit me straight off
where abouts are the dirt jumps in ben do you ride them.

They're old and in need of some tlc but hope to get over there with a shovel when the weather let's up a bit! As for bike frame sizes go to a shop like Evans and sit on as many bikes as possible then you'll know what size you like best

Sent using the force...

I'd checkout the bike shops for current models then hit eBay for prior years.

I found a few that we're close and then simply went and looked/rode them.

I ended up picking up a Scott Spark 50 2011 that has a decent spec for far less than your budget :)

Then all you need to do is speak to your local bike shop about booking it in for a service or as I did just give it to Nick Tonks of Pedal Worx to give it a once over :)

Happy hunting!
