We holiday in swanage every year and ride from corfe castle to old harry rocks . And its as hard or as easy as you want to make it. Its fine for your kids tho the ride down from nine barrow down to ulwell needs to be taken carefully if inexperienced or with ridgid forks. If its not misty the views are stunning from up there.

The ridge line from Corfe to Kimmeridge (west bound) is great, slog up but lovely long ridge line and you can either coastal path or road back. (DON'T take short cuts though, follow paths as it is military firing ranges)
