I've used lots of training apps over the years but really struggle with strava.
Did 10 miles at Danbury today Endo and runkeeper have logged but strava lost its data. Can I stop and upload later or does it try instantly ?
I will crack it and move away from runkeeper second time is a charm hopefully

Any tips ?

I find endomondo looses the signal more.. Strava has never given me an issue. You can export/import runs from both..

And you get the KOM with strava

I can import from Endo to strava ?

I fancy strava for the competitive aspect my training run round town is also on there and the thought of beating runners at their game makes me smile

Runtastic & Mapmyride both nice website layout and make a better job.

I had a really high average speed on a Strava run but then I realised I didnt turn it off when I got on the train

I quite like Strava and have had no problems, I noticed there is a pause button that i believe you can press and then press stop later, I think it then uploads automatically ?, although Im no expert on it, but its interesting to see the KOM status for local runs, etc.

I just hit stop and don't worry about it, then upload when I get home on the wifi. Not convinced when people say one drops out and another doesn't, that's down to the phone and satellite availability not the software ??
I think you can turn off auto upload in the settings.

Agree with Jon Above^^^^^ it's more down to the area, phone etc signal strength rather than the software.. had Strava and Endomondo running both at same time on most rides and not had an issue. only really see a slight difference in Endomondo's distances it says compared to the Strava distanace, oh and the auto pause function on Endomondo constantly saying "Auto paused" "Auto resumed" as some of you have heard on rides... as it has trouble when you actually stop picking up gps positions, this can be turned off but then you only get a total time and not an actual moving time...

Strava has a better ability on this and has a total time and moving time.....

Also have a look at http://veloviewer.com once registered on Strava, as it links into your account. This is a total of all your rides and timings in one place.. kinda cool if you like this sort of stuff

Now go out and get some of those Strava segments and KOM's

Just started with Strava and I already don't like it as much as MapMyRide ... but I guess I'll give it a go for a while. Currently running both.

MapMyRide also gives KOM and various other awards. Also has auto pause etc. Personaly I find it much easier to use, but that might just be familiarity.

I think there are a lot more Strava users out there. could be another reason I'm not so keen on it at the moment as on MapMyRide I have the fastest time on a particular climb, but well down the list on Strava

Still - there's a challenge I suppose!
