April Newsletter From Matt MSG

Quote:
Top Story – Round 8 venue confirmed!!

It has probably been one of the worst kept secrets in the Eastern Region cycling scene but we’re happy to announce Hadleigh Farm as our series finale venue!! What more could we ask for than one of the best MTB XC courses in the world and a fitting way to see out the end of the 2013 summer series! The course itself will resemble very closely what was used for the Olympic event with Graham and I building in non-technical alternatives around each feature for those riders who aren’t quite ready to try the rock gardens and steep descents. So don’t worry if you are concerned about being able to ride the course, like at all MSG events we give you alternatives, one thing we won’t be able to do though is take out the hills (yes we have hills!!).

For this event we will be assisted by the Hadleigh MTB Club with a chunk of the income going back to the Club for their continued development.

We are expecting a high entry number for this event and our entry is on a first come, first served bias. We are limited to 50 riders per mile on the course at any one time, therefore with a 6km course we are allowed to have 200 riders per start time (10am and 2pm).

Take a look at the MSG FB page.. they have pictures up of the Codham Park course.. A new STEEEEEEP entry into the sand pit area should be fun for some of the Roadies to fall off clipped in, and also a load of logs to hop over and a water feature to negotiate.. course is looking good, Oh and also they are using part of the BMX track this year as well.. so berms and pump track ahoy.... Looking like a really good course...

Sandpit  what that trench thing again!
Why are photos not on blog or MSG website. I see now why no photos on website domain needs to be renewed.

VW sent me photos, does look good this year lots of new features shame not going to ride it.
I can stick photos up here for anyone not on Facebook.

No not that little pit they dug.. the big hole up by the start/finish area, the one that has the rock garden in.. also they say they are using more of that rock garden... so maybe knee pads to be worn on race day..
