Mines a tow ball mounted one.. so you will need one of them.. Really good rack as well and sturdy.. I put the bike in the back of my Rav when it's too wet driving anywhere as the rear wheels do throw up a lot of spray.. But then again I have a bigger boot than a kuga hahahaha

My team manager at work has a kuga and puts his road bikes on the roof, but I don't talk to him.. Lol

A rear mounted rack isn't recommended for the kuga as the top portion of the tailgate is plastic. I use Thule roof mounted cycle racks on my Kuga but I am 6'3'' lol.

I went for a ball mounted Pendle rack. They are wider than Thule racks and take a longer wheelbase. The only drawback is that the clamp attaches to the ball, but I don't envisage towing anything with a Polo

I fitted a down pipe adapter on end of my exhaust pipe.... But those kuga ones and BMW ones are fitted out back to just look pretty :-)
