Hope the healing is going well mate. When will you be off crutches? Your "moto style" is missed on our weekend DH sessions. :high5:

My brother has done a scaled down version of this too
Came off his bike last week and fractured his pelvis and a couple of ribs.
His pelvis punctured his leg
Doesn't look like fun !

I feel as if I'm improving, I have a lot more movement in my left leg now. I have my next surgeons appointment on 8th May so I wont really know until then.

They originally said no weight put thru my left leg at all for 3 months which would be 3rd June. Then I can start the physio if its deemed to be healed enough. So fingers crossed I can be back on the bike in June/July.

Annoyingly I think I'm going to have to cancel my Whistler trip, don't know if I want to risk crashing on it just yet!

But I'll be back! as soon as!
Maybe it will be dry!!!?

Well i guess thats good news, is it a shorter recovery if they haven't mechanically fixed him back together.

How did he manage that?

It was a fairly uneventful low side due to slipping on something but he slid and hit a wall a bit. not very high speed but then he is a skinny fucker

Well I've been back to the surgeon last week and he's really impressed with the healing so far. I saw him just over 9 weeks from the surgery and xrays show that i'm were they would expect a 12 week patient to be. So pleased with that.
Bad news is i'm banned from getting on the bike for 3 months!! The surgeon is a biker himself so I believe what he says and that hes not just being over cautious.

I'm allowed to start riding a bike on a set of rollers to get some strength back in my leg, but not outside in the big bad dangerous world!

Another limiting factor is work, I still cant walk without crutches so cant work (im a carpenter) so Looking for a part time/temporary job I could do.

Have you considered answering phones or stuffing envelopes?

No not really, don't think I could handle nagging people on the phone just for them to hang up all the time! What do you put in these envelopes?!

Hows your brother doing?

I meant answering them like a remote call answering service, loads of firms have them you don't have to sell or know anything, one of my colleagues missus works for the AA putting through calls from home.
Envelopes - my mum when out of work from the building industry worked for lovefilm packing dvd's in to envelopes easy work to do.

He's apparently allowed to ride his bike in about 3weeks time he still walks like a gangster but he is unsupported so thats good.

That's all positive jim. My op was not bike related I had appendicitis which I thought was a pulled muscle. So it ruptured and damaged my bowel. Then had to go back with a raging infection 8wks off the bike at least and I have to be a roadie for a while as ill have no core strength and at high risk of a hernia for 3 months.
Healing vibes dude

Adam
