Check this out ......

http://www.roofbox.co.uk/bike-carriers

They do roof rack, rear hanging racks and tow-bar mounted racks. There is also an option to put your make and model of vehicle in and it'll list the racks that fit.

Ok wanna source a bike rack for my ford kuga its fitted with roof bars but it seems alittle high to get up on to the roof,so looking at possibly fitting one to the tailgate! If i'm honest don't realy fancy putting the bike in the boot!any idears???

I too have a Ford Kuga, rode Danbury yesterday, putting a dirty bike in the back (with seats down).
Used some carpet off cuts to protect the floor, but still got mud all over the unprotected bits :x :x

I have a tow bar fitted to mt Kuga and have been looking at the tow bar mounted racks for 2-3 bikes.
Will be ordering one this week, don't know which yet.
I don't have roof bars on my Kuga.

Happy shopping.

Check this out first ....

http://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehs ... 3e~BGDdm4A

"It's not possible to fit a rear door fitting bike carrier to this vehicle, this is due to the design and/or strength of the tailgate.
We would recommend considering either roof bar or tow bar mounting bike carriers. We have a great range of tow bar mounting and roof bar mounting bike carriers.

We also have good value package deals that include the roof bars and bike racks. "

By the way - I have nothing to do with this company, I just found them really useful when looking for a rack for my car.

Looks like you're going to have to either fit a tow bar, or use the roof bars!

Thule now do roof bars that slide out so you dont have to climb up and over the car. It's called the Slidebar.

Hi Simon,

I'v just ordered the Thule EuroClassic G5 2 to 3 bike tilting carrier no. 908 from Roofbox.co.uk

Looking on Bikerader its got good reviews, a bit on the expensive side, but then my bike was also expensive as my wife keep telling me :!: :!:

I'll let you know and post some pics when it arrives, and I try fitting it.
Also got some bits free as well, always good to get free bits.

Regards
trev.

Did you measure the bike wheelbase vs. the strap ratchets. The problem I had with my Butcher was that the wheelbase was too long for the Thule EuroWay G2 921, and the only way I could strap it down was by really yanking the straps around the rims, too much hassle, plus the frame holder didn't cope too well with the frame shape. That's why I went for Pendle's simplicity.

Trev how does your wife know how much your bike cost lol
My wife thinks I sold my enduro paid for a family holiday bought a cheap rockhopper then got a great deal on a frame. Then little bits keep braking and need replacing :)
My roof carriers cost £30 off eBay as no key for one then £2.45 for the key off eBay and roof rack is adapted from my focus one
