Also seem Ridgeback MX16's mentioned, although not as good as an Islabike, they are cheaper!

I'm thinking carrera blast 16" as he wants a mtb and it has forks and light ish and about £50 second hand on fleabay. lots in londinium but with me not able to drive the boss is not keen.
I'm thinking with me off the bike for weeks progressing the boys why I walk around the block

I'm sure someone on here could help by picking up whatever you buy and delivering if it's near to them. I would if it's out this way and over Halstead/Colchester direction.

+1 for Islabikes. My son started with the Rothan balance bike and was soon bombing around the pump tracks. He's now nearly 4 1/2 and has been riding his Cnoc 16 for quite a while now. He's never had stabilisers as he learned all his balance skills on the Rothan and it took him about 10 mins to get the hang of pedalling when he changed over. I think that's the way to go when teaching kids to ride.
Islabikes are relatively expensive but are good value particularly if like me you'll be handing it down to younger siblings and as said before resell value is good because of their popularity.
They have also started adding new limited edition runs of colours other than the standard red. blue and pink. At the moment it's a rather nice looking green.

Hospital told be to be a roadie for a while but I don't know the secret handshakes
Thanks Greg youngest loves his balance bike the eldest never got it he was premature and he's tall and has no balance at all lol plus no attention span

Yeah my son's very tall too, takes after me. He does have pretty good balance and concentration though but has been known to take my wife out sending her arse over tit because he swerves around too much. He's also had a fare few crashes being a bit too cocky and standing up on the pedals lol.

My middle boy is the one just like me bails gets up and starts again far easier to work with Noah will get there just needs a different route

Bidding on my fourth Carrera blast possibly not the best kids bike but my son says its a real mtb like mine
I decided interest is key to kids bikes to get them riding
