I think Bike Base in Southend have 1 or 2 downhill bikes in. I saw a Giant Trance X in there yesterday which was quite tasty... Could always ask in there? I know the owner and he's a friendly chap.

Bike Active are in Stanstead Abbotts, which is a good few miles from Stanstead. Too many places with the word Stanstead in them around that way. Shame as I was thinking great, what looks like a decent bike shop close by!
