Ev, you just need to use a UK to US adapter with the charger supplied. Works fine and the batteries are made up of protected cells to prevent overcharging.

Cheers Dude,

I was just conscious that the descriptions on the light only and battery pack only didn't mention an included charger anywhere..

Reposted here, in case anyone else is interested....

The light I got was this one:

Battery pack this one:

http://www.lightmalls.com/waterproof-8- ... -magic-bag

I have a couple of chargers from other lights, so use them. Apparently the chinese ones are not terribly reliable, although I haven't had any problems with them.

If you don't have a charger, what I'd do is buy the complete light set and the additional battery, it's about an extra £8 or so, will give you a spare battery and the charger.

As for Lightmalls, I've used them quite a few times, not got hit by the import duty (perhaps fortunately!), delivery has taken some time, about a month in the latest case, but it has arrived safe and sound.

Depends how quickly you need the light though!

Hopefully, I've covered everything, if not give me a shout :)

Graham

Cheers Dude, just replied to your message :)

PS. Just looking at my DX light chargers... They output 8.4V at 1A... Does this look the same?

Cheers,

Yea, that one looks very similar.

In my experience, the chargers have worked with all the batteries I have tried them with.

I've not ordered from lightmalls before..

Just compiled my order and saw had to select shipping option..
One was express delivery (8 days) but costing $18
The other was free delivery via China Post... but the caption for this is " Can't Ship The Order With Batteries As The Strict Customs, With Tracking Number 10- 25days Arrived - $0.00"
Did you use the free delivery as the comment on batteries is strange...

Cheers

I used the "medium" delivery, the lower of the paid deliveries.

I used the same medium shipping option, worked fine the last 2 times I ordered from them. I've seen reports of people being stung by import duty when they've paid for express delivery as it gets sent via a carrier like Fedex so probably gets checked somewhere else.
All 3 of my chargers charge all 3 of my battery packs. One is the Magicshine aluminium one and the other 2 are the standard cheapy unbranded cells in a pouch.

Are you sure you've selected the right country, put in Essex as the state and your postcode?
Should pop up with an option like:

Via SG/HK Post Airmail(Can Ship Order With Batteries)
If The Order Include Batteries,Select This Term, With Tracking Number 5-15days Arrived - $5.54

It's the number of batteries in the order...

I'm ordering for myself and a mate also.. Trying to order us both a complete set and larger cell-pack.. As soon as I change one of the complete sets for a light-only then the middle shipping option come back in..

I've put them through as 2 orders.. 1 for the 2 light sets, the other for the 2 larger cell-packs..

Only ended up an extra $5

From the states USPS is the best option as its like Royal mail and they have yet to automate their system so every shipment over seas has a paper trail but electronic only to the port of dispatch and then by Royal mail from port of arrival and the 2 systems dont talk to each other, if you use Fedex, UPS or another more modern courier its all done electronically on both sides and therefor VAT / import tax etc is all calculated by their system as they are monitored far more closely.

I've bought some bits from Jenson and sometimes had to pay extra tax but other times not, although I did have some stuff delivered to my (old) workplace then many months later, my old job tried to chase me for the money, but just ignored them :)
