What would be a good bike for a bit of every thing, hardtail about £1500?
I was looking at this http://www.boardmanbikes.com/mtb/ht_procarbon650b.html I think Boardmans are always good bikes with a nice bang for you buck, although the price has yet to be confirmed.
Cheers
Mark

I had the old carbon pro 26" and was excellent. Swapped wheelset for ZTR Crest and got it under 10kg, stiff frame, picked up speed super fast and good up down and on tech twisty singletrack. Better I guess this one on 27.5"

What was the frame like, would it handle any jumps?

The reason why I am a bit weary before I shell out anther 1.5 grand on a carbon framed bike is I just cracked the frame on my CX, just by hitting a tree root on a down hill section.
It was a minor off and I was really shocked that the frame was cracked.
Planet X refused my warranty claim on the grounds that it was impact damage.

Well I've snapped a carbon frame quite badly (search shakira on here) but I still have another full carbon one and a half carbon all mountain bikes. (Beyonce and steffi if you do a search ;) )
I have had all sorts of bikes and broken more ally ones than carbon ones :?
