What do you guys reckon, will it be alright?

I still need to get a base layer, gloves, waterproof trousers, coat, and I might get a pair of waterproof socks .

I saw these running shorts in the 'Nike Factory outlet' in Thurrock, but they didn't have my size (M) in that store, but I found a new pairs on eBay, and there may be some stock in the Nike store in Stratford, so may get these too.

Saw these Ski Base layers in DECATHLON for £5.99 / some multi deal 3 for £12 or something.

Looks like it will do the job?

Last year, I was wearing inappropriate stuff really; a cotton short sleeve vest, with old t-shirts, hoodie / jumper, track bottoms, with Ski socks, and a ski coat, lol.

If you have to wear trousers to stay warm you are not pedalling fast enough is what I say ... lol

In all honesty, I rode through out last year in snow and mud, I mostly wore riding shorts (with padded liner), Helly Hanson base layer, either wool grip gloves or normal riding gloves and a wind break/warmer water proof jacket. You will be surprised by what you do and don't need.

I would say it would be better to get more riding persific clothing for certain items (e.g. shorts and riding jacket). Just like anything in live, pay cheap - pay twice

I have the Karimor running jacket. Waterproof and wind proof, and lightweight, price was good, the only drawback to a true cycling jacket is it does not have the longer rear tail.

I WEAR T SHIRT , CYCLE SHIRT COAT WATER PROOF AND THEN COVER IT ALL UP WITH A DH JERSEY TIMES AT LEAST TWO.

4 HOURS OF SWEATING AND GETTING WET IS TERRIBLE AND IT IS AMAZING WHAT A DRY CHANGE OF CLOTHES DOES FOR YOU.
I NORMALLY CHANGE WHILST P ICKNIC AND DRINKS. Also good pair of walking boots so feet dry good grip and protection for ankles.

and knee and shin paids and elbow pads as well - take of after first lap if not needed.

beany and water proof full finger gloves.

2 litres of water and tools and tubes and first aid pack.

2,4 tyres and full sus with lock outs .

12 water bottles with energy drinks in etc at stn.

Bob

(No wonder I am only going 7 mile a hour for 4 hours . (Last lap take the lead out and float. )
