Bikes was her passion, I've warned her about 4 hours of cold weather then a trek round to find me mangled with a tree somewhere, that dogs got a knack of finding me anywhere.
I'm sure I'll see you before race day, but I'm sure if she goes she can do the feed station for you as well.

Hi,
My other half has had enough of me talking bikes and would rather watch horses.
I can only show off or should I say full off in front of cameras.
Be good to see your family. There was lots of supporters at the feed stns and they seemed happy to chat .

She had a bad accident about 8 years ago on a black run DH. Lots of broken bones after a head on with a tree, she has to take medication everyday to stop eppilicy attacks. It knocked her confidence and will quite often walk down hills, couldn't get her to do any of the down hills at Haleigh farm, but she loves just trail riding now.

Entry paid for now. 4 hr over the hill and beyond class

Then get to the start time.
They will call the nrs that are rated first then it is a free for all positions at the start .
I should get called up before you based on the first ride .
No WATER make sure you bring plenty plus food etc . there ios a coffee and food sold .
Good bunch of people .
Anything else ask away .

I am entered for the 2 hour race. Number 486. First ever mtb race for me although I have done a bit of cyclo cross and organised trail rides. Looking forward to it. I currently have platform pedals but could change to SPDs, advice welcome bearing in mind my lack of recent mtb riding. See some of you there

Hi ,
If you are good clip ons.
If not so good flats.
I ride flats as opportunity to dab .
Just go out and have fun .
Next time you will then do better and then you get in race mod and all hell lets loose.
There is tecn. stuff dips and trees and jump but not undoable .
Hill bits is where the clip s are needed .
There are some very good riders in it.
Do not get down hearted about being passed as some blow out and finish early.
Have fun and I will see you there -724.

Hiya. It's my first one too for over 30 years, if you haven't used sd"s before it might better to stick with your current peddles, or you have 3 days to get used to them, they don't take to long to get used to.

As Bob said just have fun and enjoy it

Thanks both. I am used to spd for cyclocross and road but think as its first time racing the mtb I will stick to the flats. If all goes well I can switch for the next event. Not as if I will be troubling the leaders anyway so it wont matter if I am a bit slower uphill.

Hi
Mtb racing is a learning curve and some times you get it right and some times wrong.
I pace myself and run out of time
go fast and run out of steam.
1 st lap I tend to go as quick as I think possible
2nd lap I over compensate
by the 3rd and 4th laps I know what is coming and begin to have walls in the way like HUGE HILLS .
Then tiredness sets in mistakes and oops your off and kicking yourself.
All good fun.
