Bugeye, 29er on rigid forks will be quickes but not as comfortable. If doing 1hr do rigid, 2hr keep the old suntours on. Only time I would consider the 456 would of been the more techy races but I think yheyve killed them off?

The Langdon hills one is the only realistic one i could consider.

I just did a bit of reading on the MSG website and it sounds like an awesome event.

Ive done them from the start but phased them out a little but had reasonable success in early years. Cant compete now with the roadies on mega light machinery but really enjoy the events. Well worth the effort of langdon hills, cracking course.

Roadies? I thought it was an offroad event. Or do you just mean roadies turning up on lightweight mountain bikes.

Im going to fail, i only started riding what i would call "properly" a few weeks back. But i know i will enjoy it. I love riding, i love my bike, i love offroad. :)

Ive got till now and September to get fitter, convince my parents to take me there, and perhaps save up some money to improve my bike a bit.

I'm always happy to help out, and thats plenty of time to get match fit.
Work on your fitness and your technical skills and you'll blast Langdon.

I will give MSG a go. It will be a first so I'm not sure what to expect in terms of competitiveness but I wont be taking part for racing so ranking wont be important. I am way to behind on fitness & technicality level to be able to compete with most but as long as I finish the laps then I will be happy. I am not quick but I can ride for hours. Maybe after few events I notice some improvements  (get the beer ready)

I may take my boy (9) to give it a go with the U12 but but I am not sure where do I leave him when I am riding for 2hr or 4hr! I may need to speak to you Surfbum when I see you next as you've been there done that.

Cheers VW :)

Madasnibbor, im going to give it my all if i go, and try and rank up as high as possible :P

Bugeye, the other events are well out of reach. My parents wont ever take me to Suffolk or Norfolk. The Essex ones are still a bit far. The September one at Langdon Hills looks close enough to get my parents to take me.

Kara'...

I see, I'd offer you a lift but I'm not sure if I'll have space... only three seats in the van and I'm planning on taking my son too so my wife will probably come along.

MSG is fun.... Rightly there are those racing in the 1hr that should be in the 2hr races and seeing the roadies falling off clipped in is quite fun on the first laps...

I try and do some of the races close by... Travelling upto Norfolk for an hours race is not top of my agenda... Anyhow Adam still owns me a race :-)

If we are all going to do some of the races maybe sort out travel arrangements nearer the times if it helps others.
