Yeah, you're fine - XT has the six largest sprockets (larger srprockets cause the most damage) on an alloy carrier. It's largely cosmetic wear anyway.

Just make sure you torque the cassette lock ring to the correct setting and it should be fine.

I ride in endura zyme shorts 5yrs+ and still look box fresh mine are xxl with the right size liner so stay put but are baggy on the outside

Were you wearing dark glasses? RQ is the daddy of summer tyres and mk2 tread is so spaced its a non clogging grippy winter tyre.

Finally got my one up 42 tooth ring for my 29er, running it 1 x 10 with 11-36 at the moment but now 11-42. Think I will be able to ride up walls with it =)
