I went out today to try and link a route to the whipps ride for sunday. I got most of it sorted, just need to run over it again so I dont mess up. It was pretty flowy, bit uphill in places and some nice rooty tech bits. It should take around 45 mins. We start behind the pub and finish same place around a 15min break then off to Whipps. I`m hoping to get out again tomorrow and possibly Thursday and get a better idea of time. I`m thinking perhaps 8.30 start then the main ride at 9.30 sharp. Obviously open to idea`s and suggestions but at the moment just putting it out there to gauge response.

UPDATE We tested the loop (5miles) yesterday and I think everybody enjoyed it and all agreed we would rather do this at the beginning and not after 18miles lol. Exact start time tbc but at present looking at 8.30 start.

Definate Names so far :

Steve
Alan
Paul
Neil
Gary
Ian
chrisg
Darren
Chris
I will update as and when people confirm .

Cut off to start time changes midnight tonight I think is fair.

Nah just that the Rheumatoid Arthritis in my shoulders has been bad since the new year, it has eased enough to ride again now, Codine helps ;-)

I ride with the over 35's on a Saturday. 11 start at Bury Road carpark in Chingford.

It's not strickly over 35's I'm no where near that age and niether are a few of us that ride.

More a social ride but it has started to get faster with the weather and some peoples new found sillyness.

Scotland openned my eyes and having ridden that with ease realised Epping needs to be ridden even faster than it normall is.

There's a slower group aswell.

Easiest way tovget there is train to Chingford overground, car park is a minuter away or if your local just ride there.

Ive dropped them a few mails to try and get them to link to us if anyone into the jumps and drops side of things but zero response back. Shame as we always make a point of mentioning them to people who enquire. Getting a regular Saturday ride from High Beech going is definitely a good idea.

I'll have a word buts its only me that rides DH in the group. There are a few others that would possibly ride jumps and drops there more XC.

lso it's easier for most of the group to meet in Chingford and ride to High Beech through the forest.

I think the early starts don't go down well with the group as most are out the night before and hung over the next morning.

Why do MT bikers wanna start so early ?. Is it just me, or is a nice late start preferable ?
