I might be around myself on Saturday too, starting from near Loughton.
For getting there Sunday how does :
West Drayton->Monument district line
Ride to Liverpool street
Liverpool street->Chingford train
Ride to loughton
Loughton->epping central line
sound to get there without cycling too much (to save my little legs and energy, for the actual riding, of course!) My knowledge of London transport is pretty rubbish so if anyone can think of a better route
I tried using the 'I want to take my cycle on public transport' on the tfl journeyplanner but it hadn't the foggiest what to do and told me it couldn't find a route
Hello mate - once ur at chingford its a 20 min gentle spin up the fireroads to high beech with a bit of road at the end. No need to go to Loughton. Its about 2.8 miles in total
Ive done you a map - red is road blue is fireroad
1) Come out of the station and go right - take the second left to swing onto bury road
2) Once at the car park take the fire road heading into the forest
3) Take the first right off this fireroad onto another fire road
4) Go over the crossroads here and follow the track all the way to the end at point 5
5) Turn left onto the road - its a very minor narrow road
6) Once you pass the bikers tea hut on your right turn left onto the road
7) then 50 yards down the road...
8) ...turn right - that will take you all the way to...
9) Which is high beech
I used to do a route like that in reverse to ride the n downs- so I know its not far
