A good wheelset is only as good as the builder, no matter how good the parts are if its built badly it will always be a bad wheel..

I think I'm leaning towards some conventional DT Swiss 240s. Will make an order for the front this month to make a start amassing the parts needed.

So, wheel builder recommendations? I'm sure there is a guy in Waltham Abbey/Cross way thats held in high regard around here?

Good choice of hub, but make sure to get the correct one ie: 15mm bolt thru or QR as if I remember correctly thery are not interchangeable..!!

Right now I'm planning to go for the Derby carbon rims, light layup in front and heavy duty in the rear with black Sapim cx ray spokes and Red Sapim nipples to add a bit of colour

Ultimately I'd like to build them up with their own tyres, discs and cassette then I can swap wheels depending on where I'm going and what conditions I will be riding in.

Finally arrived. Ordered from Gemany as it was the best price.

Well, there was a bit of import duty on the rim so after tape and valves its gonna be closer to 450 but not a bad guess at all

Little update on this. I managed to get the rear built up then garnished them with their own Ice Tech discs, a Trail King 2.4 on the front and my old X King 2.4 on the back along with a XT cassette with an e*thirteen 40T ring on it. So now I have two complete wheel sets That I can swap between depending on what is needed and/or have a backup set in case of breakage.
