I'm after getting a tow bar fitted my ford kuga , been quoted £230 from to rite in upminster! Any suggestions!

Thats a bit steep, you just want it for the bike rack or towing much more with it??

Just the bike rack really mate ! How much did you pay 4 yours?

Does yours have the detachable mount straight from ford? worth looking into a lot of 4x4's have it hidden behind the bumpers.

I to have a Kuga (aren't we the lucky ones.....).
I have a removable one, but it is left on all the time.
I got mine fitted by a mobile fitter, came to my house done on the drive way.
Took about an hour.
The company was A&S towbars.
I had it fitted when I bought the car 3 years ago, cost around £250 including fitting I think (haven't got the receipt anymore)

Then got back in to MTB's so got a tow bar mounted bike carrier.

Tow bar on mine is a bit more sturdy as we tow a horse box with it, I know you can get the smaller ones that don't take as much weight but have the electrics as well. Think mine was around the 230 mark, cant remember

Used a place called Jim's Tow Bars. mobile fitter came and did it on driveway, took him about hour. based out of Harlow but have fitters all over

Do you have reverse sensors on your Kuga, also those have that massive bumper plate they have to cut into I believe to fit the tow bar,

They fitted mine too. Came to the house. I thought it was steep too but after much looking around there was not anything cheaper. I could have bought the parts online for £100 and do it myself but as it required 7pin electric I did not want to mess with it. Paid £230 all in. Can be more depending on the type. It did involve cutting underneath but as long as its cut nicely you cant notice. The tow bar will always stay on so there wont be a hole.
