I thought about it, but they look OK as they are, they are not catching on anything and maybe a cable guide will stop them moving as intended? If you fit one, post a pic.

Will do. I've ordered two different types to try out as they're only a quid or so each. I'll see which fits best and let you know.

They are soft rubber so are much better than the hard cable rubbing

One of the cable guides I ordered arrived yesterday. I just need to figure out a way to semi-permanently fix it in place as theres no bolt hole on the BB of my bike. Don't fancy drilling/tapping a hole in case I screw that up..

Sadly the cable guides I got won't work as they don't fit too well (the arch on the guides don't follow the arch of the outside of the BB), so I've wire-tied the rear brake cable to the frame to try and make it a bit more out of the way. Might try and run it completely under the BB, its not that much in the way TBH...

Jim, that looks a better route, make sure you get some copter tape on that frame before you use it.

Cheers Ian. There's some helitape on the down tube (can't quite see it in the photo) and I've whacked some lizard skin patches on around the headset - hopefully got all the likely places covered (no pun intended).

Took it for the fiirst test ride today, wet and muddy but nothing fell off some I'm happy
