A few old friends and a couple of new ones will be riding from the west coast to the east coast in aide of Cyclists against Cancer. Please give us a follow on https://www.facebook.com/groups/cc2cc/ and a read of http://www.crudcatcherchallenge.co.uk

40.36 miles 1401m climb.

On leaving St Bees the route takes us along the national cycle route past Frizzington and into the heart of the Lake District, crossing Loweswater Fell and Brackenthwaite Fell on the way to Whinlatter Pass. There we join the Quercus and Altura mtb trails for a loop of the forests before descending into Potinscale to finish day 1
—-----------------
Day 2 - Portinscale to Kirkby Stephen, 11th June
52.15 miles 1629m climb.

Heading out of Portinscale we head through the town of Keswick and on towards the Old Coach Road at Matterdale Common, passing Threlkeld Knots as we go. We pass around Ullswater and down Boredale Beck as we make our way towards Shap. Heading off road again at Orton we climb through Great Asby Scar on our way to our overnight stop at Kirkby Stephen
—-----------------
Day 3 - Kirkby Stephen to Leeming Bar, 12th June
49.62 miles 1408m climb.

Another tough day awaits as were soon off road again crossing the Dales on our way to the much heralded Swaledale. The moors at Arkengarthdale and Whaw lie in wait as we we head towards Hurst Moor and the rocky descent at the famous Fremington Edge. We then join the national cycle route for our final push towards Leeming Bar and our bed for the night.
—-----------------
Day 4 - Leeming Bar to Robin Hood’s Bay, 13th June
57.87 miles 1453m climb.

The Yorkshire Moors await on our longest day as we ride on towards the finish. Following the roads to Northallerton we head off the beaten track towards Chop Gate and Cockayne Ridge. There is no respite for us as we are straight onto Glaisdale Moor after which the finish line is now in sight. One last push towards Whitby and a final descent to Robin Hood’s Bay will se us reach our final destination, The North Sea and the finish of the Crudcatcher Challenge.

Climb 5846 metres
Descent 5846 metres
Total Distance............
200.00 miles exactly!!!!

Any donations welcome obviously or any other help greatly appreciated

Good point dave,
Either online here https://www.justgiving.com/crudcatcherchallenge/
Or just text 70070 CRUD86 £5 (or more if you want)

Help, well if your not offering to climb for me, how about taking my dogs for a walk or some sort of corporate sponsorship?
I think most things are in hand but if someone was to say "here have these boxes of toblerone to help you get your energy back" i'm sure we'd all be happy.

Don't want to intrude on your post.

So this week I bought a turbo trainer and a single speed bike, single speed bike doesn't fit on the turbo trainer so I have decided to use it to ride to work on.
Single speed bikes are weird, bloody hard going especially on anything other than flat or downhill.
On the way to work I struggled but did better than I thought, but on the way home I zoomed along (helped by the wind)

So I have about 6 weeks to go and it's beginning to dawn on me how much of a task it's going to be and how flat the south East is!!! Every day the climbs are over 4000 ft
Will be trying to do some longer rides in the next few weeks so if anyone has any marathon plans let me know (not you javi) Image

So this mornings commute was interesting, Saddle changed to a spoon last night made the world of difference in comfort, Seatpost however felt the need to slip down after the first 5 miles of climbing  I then found out how good i am at riding with the saddle down  . 10 miles basically riding a kids bike. My legs are going to be powerful for the http://www.crudcatcherchallenge.co.uk/ So please do give generously for this amazing cause as you can see how much effort we are all putting in. https://www.justgiving.com/crudcatcherchallenge/ In other news my new minty arse butter is lovely and i cant believe i have never tried it before!

Scary numbers in the first post. The XXL pint offer is still there...its probably the least you deserve for attempting it, let alone completing it.

Having said that, I would have said Yes to this sort of ride too any time (If I ever wanted a divorce that is ;-) )

Believe me Remi wifey is giving me a hard time about helping the kids with cancer.
There's lots going on behind the scenes eg, today we are sorting travel arrangements and meeting points, shops and restaurants, pubs and grubs.
