Yesterday and spent some time getting over logs and on several occasions I think I hit the chain ring. (Yesterday was the first time I had really had to get over logs, so my technique is not all it should be).

But, on the Spesh Enduro, the cable routing is a bit shit. It goes under the crank.



I'm not sure I would ever damage these cables, I guess the chain ring would take all / most of the impact.

The cables are routed correctly, if I fully compress the suspension, the cables almost touch the bottom of the frame but do not stretch.

I did not damage the chain ring, but it got me thinking towards solutions to offer protection in the event I keep hitting logs.

Any good bash guards out there for a direct fit chain ring? (SRAM X01)
Are they chain ring size specific? I have a 32t direct for ring, but might want to swap it out to a 30t for specific events.

I use one of these on the proper bike but it does need the ISG tabs. Its only really been "used" once in a race where the drop was a lot higher than it looked. If your frame doesnt have the tabs they also sell the adapter to sit behind the BB shell.

It handles the odd scrape well and keeps the chain in check on the rough stuff

I do have an ISCG mount.
I need to measure it to determine if it is ISCG05 or ISCG-OLD.

If your bike is a 2015 model then it'll be new type

If the very latest versions are the 2016 models, then yes, mine is the 2015.
It will take two mins to measure it later.

I can't find the MRP AM Guide in black. Looks to be sold out everywhere.

E13 do a couple of options, this one, which has an extra rear guide as the chain leaves the chain ring,

both cover the same size range, 28 to 38 with three different size guard attachments 30, 34 & 36T DMB

I got the Gamut because its smaller than the others so its a bit neater, came with lots of washers too which makes a change.
