Wheres your favourite uk trails / forest / uplift?
Assuming there mates, beer and cake included :)

Heres my top 5, all highly recommended :

1. Peaks
Big ups, big downs, rocky, fantastic scenery, epic
2. Coed Llandegla
Most technical red trail ive ridden, black runs, freeride, skills and extreme areas are amazing
3. afan - glyncorrwg
Big up but great singletrack descents
4. surrey hills
Awesome and such varied riding in a smallish area, best riding in the se imo.
5. swinley / gorrick
Great trail centre though you need a guide, gorrick are the best races Ive done.

Not sure if 4 and 5 are really the same place :?

So whats your favourite and what would you recommend...

Inners so far uplifts are my cup of tea, nothing like being bussed up and riding down.
Glentress is ok, I got bored though.

Peaks killed me but then I di try it on a single speed

My 5 favourites would be;

1. Cwmcarn – some complain of the long uplift but that down is so worth it, the quarry gap… one day.
2. Aston Hill – ridden here the most, love it as I know it. Steep rooty goodness, ride it in the wet and no where else will seem that bad. I’ve caught faster riders on wet root sections in the Alps thanks to Aston in the winter!
3. Gawton – regrettably only did a couple of runs down the red track before we had to head off to Tavi Woodlands due to very wet conditions and riding buddies that day, but loved it. Can’t wait to go back to attempt the black ones, they look scary.
4. Wharncliffe – anywhere Peaty rides is reason enough.
5. Forest of Dean - plenty of fun just a short lift to the top, down hill all day!

Rogate would have made it a couple of month ago; pipped to the post by a recent uplift day at FoD!
Soft spot for Swinley Forest too as I rode there a lot before Aston Hill.

Other spots I hope to get to one day;

Innerleithen
Fort Bill
UK Bike Park
Woburn
PORC
Snowdon

Well. Do you know where the cross roads are near the train station and zaras. If you are coming up to that cross roads fron the road where the park is then you turn right as if you were goin to sawston. Once you go over the bridge over the railway then take the last left just after the pub. Follow this road untill you reach a corner with a farm on the out side. Go through the farm yard. You should come out on a lane between two fields. Follow this lane untill you reach the river. Cross the bridge and there should be a fence to you left. You could try to fit between the fence and the one along the river there is also a gate further down. Follow the river down untill you will see another fence. Go left around it and they r there. There r three jumps and the lane is long but u will know when u get there.

For me its: Aston Hill: nice and steep, quite tech, the black run race was great fun (camping was quite cold though!)
FOD: Would like to go there when theres nicer weather and do an uplift. I've always pushed up.
PORC: laid back short runs+short push up=lots of riding, the Mr Bling race I did was great fun but everyone was rapid except me!
I need to go ride some more places in the UK!

When was the last time you hit PORC? Apparently it's a bit overgrown. What's the score?
