Chicksands today was truly awesome.

Awesome for a number of reasons- firstly, and I'll get my personal proudness out the way quickly; managed to really conquer the 4X and dual. Clearing the doubles- achieved.

Secondly, the 4X start gate was up and running. I spoke to Tom Dowie who said that some people and himself wanted to practice. Well, spank me and call me Wendy, but the riders that turned up en masse on trick bikes were inspirational. Incredible start pace and ability to manual/squash/pump/air jumps.

I'm pretty sure I'll see them in ad soon.

And lastly; as mentioned- Tom Dowie was about and I had a good, friendly conversation. I know this guy isn't number 1 anymore, but the dude is a pro rider and has some serious history. Plenty of reason for a young man of his years to be a bit elitist. The guy was so down to earth and interesting to talk to that it helped make my day with everyone else considered.

With lovely weather and great tunes on the 'pod, it was one of those proper days.

How is the rest of the place looking? Any of the northshore drops been re-built yet?

Northshore is still out of action, and the tracks were exactly as you'd expect at the height of summer- some ruts, brake bumps and loss of lips on the jumps. Smooth and fast as well though.

The dirt jumps have taken a beating :/

Still a good laugh though and good for dialing the technique.

Did u take a look at pump track ?

Didn't check the pump track out. I started hitting the DJ's and was trying to clear them. Was nearly making it too
