Definitely up for this. Going to bring the family and stay close by for the weekend. Should be good fun and 18 month year old is going to love seeing all the bikes.

Nice one - the hardtail category is where the hardcore hang!

Yep im up for this - last race there was wicked fun

http://essexhertsmtb.co.uk/php/flogr/in ... 3688775787

Im going to badger the kiwis about it till they give in. The winner of the masters was slower than me last time so Chilli would have a good chance of a podiom I rekon.
Tom - fancy it?
Nigel - u gunna be healed up by then or is 3 months cutting it a bit fine for a hand injury?

I am in

Plaster was off last week (total of 4 weeks) feels pretty good - plan to get out on the bike this weekend but probably a quick local spin rather than the Aston trip (should proabably waity a few more weeks before any high impact stuff) also not in a hurry to escape my wife and 3 week old!

I reckon it will be the 432 run for the race- I imagine they will change it but I can't see that many opportunities to tweak it.

If I had the energy I would do both the downhill and the hardtail entry - the hard tail group looked like they were having a lot of fun and it was quite a mixed ability group at the last event (I remember the winner won nby 17 secs)

Nice one man - good to hear ur healing up. 432 was running great at the weekend although some of the corners are getting dug out a wee bit. No way as long as the black I feel with less pedalling. Might suit the shorter travel bikes as the corners are bad ass tight.

Injury is healing fine but now I have a dates clash. The wife was due to be away the following weekend with the girls but it seems national rail have thrown an engineering spanner in the works and it will now be this weekend. I am out.

Good stuff Nigel - shame to hear that Joel - I was hoping for some cracking shots of you in ur jammies.

All booked up too - extended family seem interested in watching me injure myself / embarrass me trackside so should be entertaining.

Come on everyone - is there no-one else?

Well worth the trip and if the idea of doing a downhill race seems in any way daunting don't let that put you off, great atmosphere, greate sport and great crowd no matter what speed you are going!

Probably be great photos aswell if March's one is replicated (a few Pro photograhhers working for free)

Have a good one guys, would love to be doing it again.

FYI - if you're staying down there the night before Dave Franciosy (running this race and runs the British Downhill Series) posted this up on Facebook yesterday:

"Saturday Night will be the Duck Inn at Aston Clinton for food and Beer with Stuart Barnham ( the 26" hater) and Mr loves himself Toby Afroman Parodi and Mr Fox Rob Sherratt and Deon Fouche should be a great night oh don't forget Jordan 'whippy' Lunn if you want to join us and not get use barred see you there from 8pm for shits and giggles ( is the big bird from liverpool still there )

Not sure how extended family suitable it might be tho?!
