The Spec is pretty spot on. The only thing i would change at this point would be the forks. Has anybody tried the suntour Raidon forks? Any Good?

Ok, so got it this morning. a few extra marks around the frame than i would have liked but its only the lacquer. to be honest if it was absolutely immaculate i would be scared to take it out.

Anyway went for a decent spin, just on the road, and it rides.....well like a bike really. ha. until you kick that is, then it takes off!!

different kind of animal to my last bike, same frame size but this thing seems massive. i really felt comfortable on it though. great ride height.

And Weirdly, i was able to do the longest wheelie on it than i have ever done. not that i base a bike on their wheelie performance, but it just felt so easy to control. Feels Big, strong but nimble.

My only grumble is that it is creeking a bit and i cant seem to get rid of it. It has a race face evolve xc crank and it seems like this maybe the problem. i noticed the crank had a bit of movement. I have taken the drive cog side off and noticed the spline has a little bit of damage but i cant see it causing a problem when its all tightened up. anyway i cleaned it all up and put it all back together. tightened it up as hard as i could but it is still creeking. It could be the BB but that seems fine. however i would like to check that it is tight. would anyone happen to have a shimano BB hollowtech spanner that they could kindly lend me?? Has any one else had this problem with there raceface cranks?

Other than that i love it! need to have a proper ride on it now.

Never ridden race face, but all my cranks squeek as some stage and I just grease them and then they all good again.

I have got a tool you can borrow, not sure where you based mate.

Hollowtech 1 or 2? 2 I'd image. Surely if it's Race Face it's an ISIS tool you need?

Ok took it to my LBS and the confirmed that the crank spline was knackered. They did say the BB was solid, so no problems there.

So. instead if hunting around for another second had item. I thought sod it and I managed to find a brand new Shimano SLX Crank for just under £100. Job done.

I bought it from a place called Rose Bikes if anyone is interested. Looks like they have some good prices.

http://www.rosebikes.co.uk/article/shimano-slx-crankset-hollowtech-ii-fc-m660/aid:287671

I also had a chat to the seller who was very apologetic and agreed to pay refund me £60 towards a new crank. which i thought was good of him.

Anyway hopefully will be able to install it before the weekend ready for an Epping thrash.
